REELIST

Bring your Letterboxd diary to Reelist

Drop your Letterboxd export into Reelist and your diary, ratings, reviews, likes, watchlist and top four come across, dates and rewatches intact.

Move it across

  1. In Letterboxd, go to Settings → Data → Export and download the zip.
  2. In Reelist, open Sources → Letterboxd and drop the zip on the page.
  3. That’s it: it saves itself. Reelist matches each film against TMDB and writes your diary as soon as matching finishes.

What comes across

  • Every diary entry, with its date, rating, rewatch flag and tags.
  • Your reviews, as the notes on the entry they belong to.
  • Your likes.
  • Films you rated or marked as watched without ever logging a date, as undated entries.
  • Your watchlist, and your top four favourites.
  • Your rating scale, if your Letterboxd bio spells out what each star means: it becomes the legend on your Stats page.

Letterboxd’s export also holds copies of entries you deleted, and reviews by other people that you liked. Reelist leaves those out.

When it isn’t sure

Reelist only matches a film by itself when the title matches exactly and the year is within one of Letterboxd’s, because a wrong match quietly spoils a diary. Anything else waits in a short list at the end, where you search for the right film or pick the top suggestion in one click, and the entry saves with its original Letterboxd date and rating. Miniseries Letterboxd lets you log are marked as TV, not films.

Keep both, or come back later

Dropping a newer export updates entries in place instead of doubling them, so you can keep using Letterboxd and bring the new entries across whenever you like. From then on Reelist can also fill itself: from Plex, your cinema tickets or Claude and ChatGPT.
