Log films by talking to Claude or ChatGPT
Add Reelist to Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code once, then log, rate and look up the films you watch just by saying so.
Reelist speaks MCP, the standard way AI apps connect to other services. You add one address to your app, sign in to Reelist once, and from then on the assistant can log, rate and look up films for you. There’s no key to copy.
The address: https://reelist.app/api/mcp
Claude
- Open Claude → Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Reelist and paste the address. For authentication choose OAuth, and leave any client ID or secret empty: Reelist registers Claude by itself.
- Click Allow on the Reelist page that opens, and you’re connected.
- In a chat, switch Reelist on from the tools menu. It works in the Claude apps too.
ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT → Plugins on the web, choose + and then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Reelist, paste the address and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Accept the warning and create it.
- Click Allow on the Reelist page that opens, and you’re connected.
Some ChatGPT plans allow only read tools for custom servers, so ChatGPT may answer questions about your diary without being able to log films.
Claude Code and other apps
- Run
claude mcp add --transport http reelist https://reelist.app/api/mcp - In Claude Code, run /mcp, pick reelist and authenticate, then click Allow.
Any app that takes a Streamable HTTP MCP server with OAuth works the same way. An app that can’t sign in can use a key from Sources → AI assistants, sent as a Bearer token.
What you can say
- “Log Heat, watched last night, 4½ stars.”
- “Rate Aftersun five stars.”
- “Add Past Lives to my watchlist.”
- “What did I watch in March?” or “Have I seen anything by Céline Sciamma?”
- “What’s on my watchlist?” or “How many films have I logged this year?”
Reelist tells the assistant to search before it logs, and to ask which film you mean when more than one could be (remakes, films that share a title) rather than guessing. A ticket for a showing still to come is listed separately and never counted as watched.
What a connected app can see
A connected assistant can read your diary, notes included, and log, rate and add to your watchlist. It can’t delete anything. Every connected app is listed under Sources → AI assistants with when it was last used, and disconnecting it there cuts it off at once.
Checked against Reelist on 8 November 2026.
